Moving...version 34.2

I stopped and counted the other day. In my 30 years of life, I have moved a grand total of 37 times. No my father was not in the military, and no we aren't hippies (two most commonly asked questions). Life has just happened and my family growning up moved a lot...and as a married person we've moved a few times. When we moved to Utah I was pretty sure I was done moving for a while.

Until last week when our landlord showed up at our door.

And announced he wasn't renewing our lease.

It's up at the end of March...and he has family who needs our little apartment.

So out we go.

Needless to's been a tad crazy around here the last week.

We thought we had a place to crash with my parents, but that fell now we're scrambling to pack and find a place and keep our sanity and our marriage in tact...Can I just tell you how annoying it is to be packing when you have absolutely no idea where you're moving to?'s the best...

(insert sarcastic groan here)

So I'm busy this week scouring the apartment listings, and finding boxes, and going through my things and donating lots to the thrift store. I'm going to have some sponsored posts go up in the next few days from my amazing sponsors, but other than that, it might be a little quiet around the blog for the next few days.

Tell me, how many times have you moved in your life? What's your secret to packing and staying organized? Leave me a comment, I'd love to hear your story!

5 times in the last 5 years, but my husband is military. We are hopefully done for awhile because we bought a house!

When that happened to us, we ended up moving boxes from storage that was full of trash! It was so irritating! If you have old towels and wash rags that you are going to throw away, leave them out for cleaning the apt with so you don't have to wash and can just toss them. I also pack a set of dishes and cooking utensils with two towels and a set of sheets so I can find them when I move in and won't have to scrounge through boxes looking for them. The basket gets moved last and gets put in the car, not the moving van!
I'm not sure how many times I moved growing up, after my parents were divorced, a couple of times a year sometimes, my mom was trying to find someplace better each time. Since I've been married (17 yrs) 5 times, and we'll be moving to MO in Oct.!

Ah moving... but I can answer the question, yes we are military. I have been married for almost 5 years, and this will be our 3rd big move. I just moved to Hawaii and have been here 5 months (with still no place to live). We are signing a lease for April, and living out of suitcases with friends. As a child I NEVER moved. My parents have lived in the same house for over 33 years. But I did move to different bedrooms a lot!

I recommend getting as many friends as possible to help so it goes quickly! I hope you can find a new place to live soon, that is always the hardest part!

Good Luck!!
