My Love Affair with Yarn

Okay it's time I openly admitted something. I have held back too long. It's time to admit it so I can step towards getting help, right?

Hello, my name is Amber and I'm yarn...
*silence and strange looks* Maybe there isn't a support group just yet...

I started to learn to crochet when I was a teenager, but just didn't have that much interest in it. I thought it was "old people" stuff, and moved on to other interests. But I've always had some interest in it off and on through the years.
But it seems since Christmas I've begun to take up the addiction again, because suddenly I'm really getting back into it! I posted this post about the afghan I made, which turned out great and got finished on New Years Eve.

So since then whenever I head out to the craft store, (which is dangerous!) I find myself drawn to the yarn aisle. I fondle, pet, stroke, twirl and caress all of the yarn. Dreaming of what I could make, and how soft this is, or how pretty a color that is. Or what were they thinking making a puke color yarn with little golf balls attached? (true story!) So instead of stroking the quilting fabric, I'm now moving on to the yarn...and find that I absolutely love it! (And I'm pretty sure the staff at JoAnns is about to post my picture on some sort of "Watch" list...)

I carry on this obsession everywhere I go. I call it my yarn lover. I pull these clandestined yarn meetups while my husband is in the room. I caress and touch the yarn right in front of him. He's pretty understanding...that's why I love him! :P

So today I thought I'd share a few things that I've whipped up lately with my newly re-discovered skillz!

This adorable hat, bootie and diaper cover set were commissioned pieces made for a photographer friend of mine. She used them in her photo shoot with a newborn.

Here is the model wearing them. Aren't they darling?

I also made this cute little hammock for the little guy to relax in during his photo shoot. I think he has that part figured out.

I made this hat and bootie set for a friend of mine. We went to high school together and he and his wife just had baby #3. They have twin 3 year old boys and a newborn so they are really busy being full time parents.

Here's little Dallin wearing the hat and booties. So cute!

Since I'm such a purple whore...and Chevron seems to be a really popular thing in the craft world...I decided to give this little tote bag a whirl. So fun to make and really spacious!

Then I got on a slipper kick...(pun intended!) I ended up making about six pair of these little beauties for friends and family.

These are for me...(yes those are my feet...let's move past that shall we?)

Then came the cutest little scripture cozy pattern. It's so fast to do, and super cute!

Made this one for my Mom. She loved it!

Then this cute little soccer set. A friend of mine has two friends with baby showers on Superbowl Sunday and asked if I could make a couple sets. One friend loves soccer so much they're naming their new addition "Beckham"...

And the other family is a hard core Bronco's fan. So here we go. A little football helmet for the new addition and a diaper cover and booties to match.

So that pretty much covers the basics of what I've whipped up. I'm in the process of making a cute little sweater for my sister's dog...with ruffles...and a flower...yeah we'll see how that turns out.

Oh, by the way...if you see something you like here, I do take custom orders, so just leave a comment below if you want to order something and we'll work it out. :-)

Happy Weekend!
