30 Years, 30 Lessons, a Birthday Memior

Today is my birthday! I am...(dun dun dun)....30....*Gulp* I am officially an adult and am expected to act the part. I know, I know, I'm an adult at age 21, but to me 30 was always when "Grown ups" were for me.

So here's 30 things I've learned in my first 30 years of life. And a few things I'll do in my next 30 years

(Yeah I know that sounded like a Tim McGraw song...)

  1. I've learned how to love.
  2. I will NEVER take a job for granted again
  3. I will never take having transportation for granted again
  4. I have realized I'm matter what people (including myself!) say!
  5. I finally know the love of a man. True love. Not lust, not fleeting, but unconditional been through shit and still together love.
  6. I know the Lord loves me. He is there. He answers my prayers. Even when I don't deserve it.
  7. I have learned gratitude
  8. Humility...I foundz it.
  9. I love Diet Coke...(well I already knew this...but I just thought I'd throw that out there)
  10. I have discovered how joyful it is to laugh. From your soul.
  11. I love modern medicine. Without it, my husband would be in grave danger of dying in his sleep every night because of his sleep apnea.
  12. I am so grateful for loving parents.
  13. Family means EVERYTHING to me.
  14. I know that the Lord forgives us. That's not just a party line!
  15. Chocolate and me get along. Sometimes it's what makes the world go round
  16. There needs to be a highway built just for me and my travels.
  17. Snow makes me happy. Giddy even!
  18. Christmas is my favorite holiday hands down. Not the commercialization of it (boo!) but the true spirit of Christmas.
  19. Thanksgiving is creeping up there for me too
  20. I have learned you cannot take your family relationships for granted. Put as much effort into them as you do your friendships, and you'll be amazed the quality love and joy you get!
  21. I have learned that "smart phones" are sometimes not so smart
  22. I've discovered that I truly love playing World of Warcraft. It's time to come out of the closet on that one...three years of playing and I'm finally ready to admit it to the general public.
  23. A little bit of kindness goes a long way. It's cliche, but true.
  24. I'm going to try not to get so uptight about things in the future. Worry less...(try!)
  25. I'm going to try and get out in the sunshine more.
  26. I'm going to attempt to not let traffic piss me off as much as it does currently. (again...TRY!)
  27. Friends getting together makes me happy.
  28. I'm going to try and become a better, healthier cook.
  29. I will try to show the people I love most what they mean to me
  30. I will try not to take things so personally.
I'm doing nothing for my birthday. Part of me is bummed about that, but then when I start to feel bummed I just need to re-read this list. :-) Have a happy my birthday and a MERRY CHRISTMAS! :-)
