Weekend Wow Me Party #5

Whew! Did that week go fast, or what? I mean really it feels like we just started it up! This week has been kind of crazy around here. I started my new job on Saturday and have worked a couple of days already. It's taking some getting used to being out and doing instead of inside in my craftyness. However I'm loving it the more I'm there.

Our car is still not up and working but we're hoping to have that corrected this weekend. Hubby has a job interview Friday and we're hoping that it comes through. It's sounding like a good bet that it might, so keep your fingers, toes, eyes crossed for us! :-)

Because of all the craziness that has been going on around here, I don't have a new project to share with you yet. It's just been too busy to do anything more than the basics. However I do plan on getting something up really soon.

Onto the fun! I am starting to really look forward to the weekends (more than usual!) because of these parties! You guys have such great ideas and projects that you come share with me every week. I always come away inspired, and hungry!

Grab 'ya a button and let's get this party started!
  • Follow Quilted Euphoria and grab my button and put it somewhere on your blog. (text links are okay too, just link back somehow)

  • Link up a project YOU have done. It can be anything! A craft, recipe, knock off, inspirational sayings, you name it! There's no limit to links, so make sure to link up all your craftiness.
  • Make sure you're linking to the post, and not the main blog so we can find it!
  • Please, don't link up your Etsy shops, giveaways, or other blog hops. (These links will be deleted)
  • Hop over to the other links and show some comment love, we all love that!
  • Please only link up a project with us that you haven't shown off before. We want to see your newest wave of craftiness!
  • Most of all just have fun, and be inspired by each others craftiness!
I love you guys so much and am so excited to have you here partying with me. Have a great weekend and enjoy this fabulous fall-ish weather. Fall is almost here! Can you smell it?

No Bake PB Cookie

Quilting blog. New recipe. Confusion? Yep?! Good! Mission accomplished!

We have a sweet tooth around here. Mostly we try to ignore it, but sometimes it just creeps up and demands to be satisfied...With the car doing it's best impression of a paper weight (really you can stop now...) limiting us from going to the store to purchase pre-made goodness, and the weather being so freaking hot (can we say "Enough"), this made our options very small. Therefore, I whipped out some no bake treats and saved the day!

I'm sure you remember that my husband is a peanut butter whore, addict, lover so we needed to add that in somewhere to our treat. And viola, this recipe was born. It's a combination of a couple different ones I've had around for a while, and they turned out awesome!

No Bake Peanut Butter Cookies
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tbsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2-4 tbps cocoa powder (how chocolatey do you want it?)
  • 3 1/2 cups oats
  • 3/4 cup peanut butter
The Process!
Combine sugar, butter, milk, vanilla and salt in a medium size saucepan. Bring to a boil, and cook for two minutes. Stir it occasionally to keep it from sticking. It should look something like this:

Remove from heat and add in the oats:

And Peanut Butter:

And stir to combine until smooth.

It should be smooth and starting to stick together as the peanut butter is cooling down. If it's still too liquid (use your best judgement) add in a handful of oats at a time until it thickens up.

Pour it into a greased cake pan and press flat.

(you can also drop this by spoonfuls onto wax paper and let them cool. Either way works!)

Stick them in the fridge to let cool for about a half an hour. Take out, cut up and enjoy!

Makes about three dozen, or if you want huge bars, it makes as many as you cut! :-) From start to finish maybe 10 minutes! So easy and so tasty!

I hope I have confused you, and made you hungry.

Euphoric Features Monday # 4

"...Rainy days and Mondays always get me down..."
---Karen Carpenter

Well not always, but Mondays and I definitely don't get along. Except this is the bright spot in our Monday's. I love features day! :-)

Thanks to everyone who linked up this weekend! We had nearly 20 projects shared and I was so inspired by all of you it was hard to just chose a few.

This week I am loving these projects:

Rag Love By Finding My Way in Texas.

I just finished my own rag quilt and was loving her scrappy creation!
So warm and snuggly!

Jacque's Soda Parlor shared this awesome tut for a No-Sew Fleece blanket.

This is my kind of project!
So easy, and so cute! (going on my to-make for Christmas presents list!)

Happy Hour Projects shared with us this great tut on a baby blanket.

I love the ric-a-rack on the edges. I need one for me!

She also showed us how to man-craft this week.
This football wreath is so awesome !

I love it because I was getting on the wreath bandwagon, but all the ones I've seen while beautiful are just too "Perfect" for our family and our personality. This one however with all it's scraptacular-ness (yes that's a word!) is just perfect! It's going to be making an appearance in our household this football season. (with Titans colors of course!)

Can you tell I've got fall and cooler weather on the brain? Those blankets all looked like they needed to come take a nap with me, and the football wreath because it's the start of widow football season.

Help yourself to a button if you've been featured! Soooo many fun projects were linked up!

This weekend has not been the restful weekend I was hoping for. Our car is sitting in our front yard doing it's best impression of a paperweight. I started work on Saturday and go back Wednesday so I'm starting to worry a tad about how to do the transportation thing. However I feel that we'll get it all solved and be back on track shortly.

I am working on a super incredible project, but it's going to take a while because of life, and the fact that to make it super incredible, it takes time! I promise it will be worth the wait though.

(at least I think it will be...)

I'll see if I can insert a semi-super incredible project in here in the meantime though!

Everyone have a great week and don't party too hard without me!

Weekend Wow Me Party #4

It's the one month anniversary of my Weekend Wow Me party! I can't believe it! This party is so much fun, and it makes one more thing to look forward to on the weekends.

I am going to be getting even busier starting tomorrow. I got a new job working part time at Walmart as a cashier. (I know, I've crossed over to the dark side...) I'm super excited because it will bring in some extra $ and give me something to do in the daytime. (besides housework!) Plus I get a discount there on all my crafty shtuffs! (Can you hear my checkbook screaming in agony over that one? It's a good thing I'm not working at JoAnn's or we'd really be in trouble!) So if any of you are in the American Fork, Utah area, come by and say hello. Otherwise just think of me next time you're at Walmart. So here's to the weekend and partying and being busy!

A few partying guidelines

I will go through all the wonderful links from this weekend and post the most clicked on, and the ones that inspire me the most, on Monday's features. So come on, link up, have fun, and most of all have a great weekend!

Award Goodness

I think I was nominated for this award like three times in the last few months. I've been meaning to put it up and blog about it, but it's been "one of those" kind of months and forgot. I sincerely apologize to those who put me up for this before and I did nothing about it. (*Cry*)

The girls over at J&M's Eye Candy put me up for this today and I'm so thrilled!

So to play along the receiver of the award must:

1. Thank the person who gave the award and link back to them in your post.
2. Share 7 things about yourself.
3. Pass this award on to 10 recently discovered blogs.

So much fun! So let's get started with the seven things you don't know about me.

  1. I hate hot weather. It stinks. All of you out there complaining for sunshine and hot weather make me want to violently stab you with a car antenna...(not really!) My theory is that if you're too cold you can always put on blankets, clothes, layers. When you're hot you can only get down to being naked, and when you're naked and still hot there's nothing more to be done. Fall/winter is my absolute favorite time of the year.
  2. I was born in Idaho, moved to Utah and spent all of my growing up years in those two states. Then I got married and we've been living in Tennessee for the last five years. Just recently moved back to Utah, and I miss Tennessee!
  3. I've been Diabetic since I was 13. Sometimes it sucks, but mostly it's just a way of life for me.
  4. Quilting and sewing are recent obsessions. I could have cared less about them in high school.
  5. I love doing laundry! I know you all are groaning right now, but I really do. The folding part not so much but the rest of it, I love
  6. Celery makes me gag. Cauliflower does too.
  7. I'm addicted to Diet Coke. There, I said it out loud.(First step to recovery)
So in the spirit of this award, I'm now nominating 10 newly discovered bloggers (at least to me!) I love each and every one of these blogs and I stalk them on a regular basis!

A Little Tipsy
Creating My Way To Success
Doodles and Doilies
Happy Hour Projects
Laugh, Love, and Craft
Lines Across My Face
My Girlish Whims
Sew Much 2 Luv
The Crafty Blog Stalker
Vanilla Bean Girls

Share some of your random facts with me, I would love to get to know the "other side" of all you crafty type people!

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Hoo Are You?

It's Tuesday again! You know what that means! It's time for
Hoo Are You with Night Owl Crafting

1. Do you prefer to use a regular pencil or mechanical pencil?
When I use pencils (which isn't often) I prefer a mechanical one.

2. What is your favorite color in the crayon box?
I think my favorite color would have to be violet or just plain blue.

3. Bottled glue or glue stick?
Oh Glue Stick, most definitely glue stick

4. calculator or do it in your head?
If it's easy math, then in my head. When you start doing complicated stuff, most definitely a calculator or we're in trouble

5.Favorite subject while in High School?
English. I loved it!

Scraptacular Ragaliciousness

Have you entered to win the
100 Fabulous Followers Giveaway?
You could win an adorable tote bag straight from me!
Hurry, giveaway ends tonight at midnight!

My hand hurts.I mean really is cramped up and hurting. Why you ask? Oh yeah because I was making this awesome little guy.

So why is my hand hurting? Because I spent three hours clipping the seams on him to make him fluffy and comfortable. Thank goodness I have those fancy spring loaded scissors or this post would take longer to post.

(You know, sticking a pencil in my teeth and pecking it out takes time)

I really and truly do love rag quilts. I think they're so fun to make! The best part about them is when I'm making them I feel like a rebel because I'm sewing them backwards!

(I live dangerously, what can I say?)

The best part about this little quilt is that it was completely free! It was such a scrap buster that I was surprised. It all started when I decided to clean my sewing area. (yeah right) Then started by going through my scraps to "Organize" them. By the time I realized what I was doing, I'd cut out about 30 something 4'' I decided to just go with it. I ended up with about 160 squares when the madness wore off when all was said and done.

This quilt is 42'' X 49''. I think it's the perfect size to throw over your feet when you're watching TV, or to cuddle a little baby in!

My second favorite thing about this is that the more you wash this guy, the softer and cuddlier he gets. Front is made from scraps of 100% cotton, and the back from fat quarters of flannel I've had forever.

(um...can you guess we're Tennessee Titans fans???)

It really took me a lot to "lose control" of the placement of this. I'm a tad OCD when it comes to patterns, and this one has no pattern. I told myself the only control I could have was to make sure no two same color squares ended up next to each other.

(And if you look closely you can see that I failed at that...)
(Please don't look too closely...)
(I ask as I give you a closeup shot...)
It was really fun to just randomly sew these blocks together and see the outcome. I would love to post a tutorial, but by the time I thought about it, the quilt was in the washer...*shrug*

I like it. I think I'll put it up on my Etsy shop and see if there are any takers. Even if there aren't this guy is cute enough to get the privilege of calling my house a home.

So what do you think?

Weekend Wow Me Party #3

My 100 Fabulous Followers Giveaway is going on right now.
Have you gotten your entries in yet? You could win a gorgeous tote bag from my Etsy shop. Ends Sunday (August 21) at midnight!

Welcome to another weekend of link up party goodness! I can't believe it's the weekend yet again. I am beginning to understand what they were talking about when my grandparents constantly said that time is slipping by so fast. I never thought I'd understand that, but now I do! I'm starting to see all the back to schooler's out there. Part of me is really jealous because I love this time of year so much. The cooler weather, the new clothes and school supplies. Another year of learning. I hated it as a kid, but looking back I really do miss it.

We had a pretty uneventful week. Hubby and I went to spend time with my family on Monday and I avoided muddled through all the housework. I also got to spend some quality time with my sewing machine this week. *Pets it* That project is coming along quite nicely and should be ready to blog about sometime next week. So hang onto your hats!

(or whatever is atop your head to hang onto...)

This party is slowly growing, and I love it. The last couple weeks we've had over 20 linkups, so this week the goal is at least 25. Can you help me out with that? Bring on the projects man, I"m ready! I need some inspiration and motivation, what about you?

A Few Partying Guidelines
  • Follow Quilted Euphoria and grab my button and put it somewhere on your blog. (text links are okay too, just link back somehow)

  • Link up a project YOU have done. It can be anything! A craft, recipe, knock off, inspirational sayings, you name it! There's no limit to links, so make sure to link up all your craftiness.
  • Make sure you're linking to the post, and not the main blog so we can find it!
  • Please, don't link up your Etsy shops, giveaways, or other blog hops.
  • Hop over to the other links and show some comment love, we all love that!
  • Most of all just have fun, and be inspired by each others craftiness!
  • Tell your friends about our party, and have them come join in the fun. The more the merrier.
I will go through all the wonderful projects and feature the ones I like the best (and the most clicked on link) at my Monday Euphoric Features! So link on up and you could be the one featured.

Have a great weekend with your loved ones. Enjoy each moment with them, and don't party too hard! (and if you do, call me, I'll bring the diet coke!)

100 Fabulous Followers Giveaway!

*Gasp* Do I really have 100 followers?
*Runs to check her GFC*

(stares stupidly grinning at her computer screen for a few seconds)
Wow...I really do have 100 fabulous followers!

*does ridiculously retarded white girl happy dance*
(Ahem...let's pretend that didn't happen...)

I am speechless. Absolutely thrilled, and honored that you have decided to come join me in my ramblings about quilting, life, cooking and everything else that randomly pops into my brain! It's just simply awesome that 100 people want to hear read what I have to say! When I started this blog it was mostly to just document my ideas, and upcoming projects. (You know kind of a de-clutter outlet for the chaos that is my brain) I never thought I'd get 10 followers, let alone 100. So for that I want to say THANK YOU 100 times over! (but that might get repetitive)

The only way I know how to say "thank you" is to give shtuff away for FREE! *nod* Yep, I said free. I know I'm awesome, save the praise for later...

(or send your thanks in chocolate...either works)

So here is what I'm giving away for free today. And might I add this is such an awesome bag that it's pains me to part with it because its one of my most favorite things I've ever made!

Pinwheel Cherries Tote Bag

This tote bag is so awesome, and let me tell you why!
  1. It's reversible! Yellow and red are so cheery, sure to brighten your day
  2. It has cherries on it.
  3. There's a pinwheel on both sides
  4. There's Velcro...who doesn't love that?
  5. Pockets!!!!
So what do you need to do to enter this giveaway? Do one (or all!) of the items listed below. Make sure to leave a separate comment below for each entry so it counts!

One Mandatory Entry:

  • Follow Quilted Euphoria on GFC and leave me a message telling me you are following me!
Additional Entries:
  • Follow me on Twitter
  • Follow me on Facebook, and come say hello!
  • Follow me on Pinterest
  • Heart my shop on Etsy, come back and tell me your favorite item
  • Blog about this entry, come back and leave me the url in the comments so I can check it out!
  • For every $5 spent in my Etsy shop, you get 3 additional entries! (come leave me a comment and tell me who you are and what you bought so it counts!)
  • Refer your friends! For each friend that comes and leaves a comment (and mentions you) You get entered in another time! How fun is that?
That's eight entries for each one of you to win this! Surely you can do a couple to get a chance to win? (I know you can!)

This giveaway will run from today (August 17th), until (August 21st) at midnight and the winner will be announced at my "Euphoric Monday's" feature post. (August 22nd) The winner will need to contact me within 48 hours or I will draw another winner.

Thank you again so much for being my bloggy (and real life!) friends. Your support makes me so happy.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you...(practicing the 100 times over stuff I mentioned earlier)
Thank you...thank you...thank you...
(wow...this is getting boring...)

thank you....thank you....
(yep I've said it enough now...)

Hoo Are You, (And Guest Posting Goodness)

I"m a guest poster today over at All Things Free. Go check it out and get yourself hooked up with the free diaper bag tut! I promise, it's cute and you'll have fun...
(well the having fun part I can't promise, but the cute I can!)
I'm currently cooking up something awesome to post here. I promise, it's cool. (Really...I do!)

I love that it's Tuesday again, because that means it's time for Hooo Are You? With Night Owl Crafting. Here are this week's questions!

1. If you could choose one of your personality traits to pass on to your children, what would it be?
I guess probably my passion for the things in life that get me fired up. I love that I am like that.

2. What's your favorite candy bar?
Right now there's a debate between the Take 5 and the Payday...I'll let you know who wins.

3. If you could vacation anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Europe. I so badly want to see what they have over there!

4. What 3 adjectives would you use to describe yourself?
Funny, Passionate, Introvert

5. In one word, how would your best friend describe you?

I hope you had as much fun with this as I did! Come back tomorrow for the best surprise I've ever featured! Have a great Tuesday!
