A Tragedy!

"Hummmmmm.....hummmmmm.....hummm......" snip, snip...hummmmmmmhummmmmmmmm.................

These were the sounds coming from my sewing morning. The nice soft whir of the sewing machine, the sound of my scizzors making their necessary cuts...I was clipping right along on my new project. Then...

"Whirrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...............whiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnneeee........hmmmmm...kathunk

The machine stopped. Just plain old stopped working. I stepped on the presser foot, and nothing happened...I pleaded with it to work again. It just whined in protest. Then for a split second I thought it was working because it started to move, and then the biggest squeak and whine known to man (or at least sewing machines) erupted from it and now it's immobile.

I'm going to take it in to a shop to see if it's even worth repairing...and cry in the meantime. This machine has served me without a hiccup for over two years and I'm actually really sad to see it broken like this. However if it's not fixable for a reasonable price, I will be getting a new machine.

And of course it has to break down when I'm mid-project...*sigh* It was a tragedy...one I'm still mourning...but hopefully I get a new machine worthy of the time that I'm out...
