No Fuss Baby Blanket

With the announcement of sister's new baby...I have started looking for ways to help her and brother in law out.
{See brother in law sitting in the background staring at sister?}

They are young newlyweds with not a lot of cash, trying to get ready for a baby. So because I can sew, and I take pity on people like that {at least the ones related to me} I have volunteered my time and sewing machine to the cause. She's due in July so there's plenty of time to make a little here and a little there. This is my little here that I'll share today.

I found some cozy flannel at walmart last night and some cotton to go with it, and decided to start making a few recieving blankets. They come in so handy for little munchkins! Since she's only 6 weeks along they don't know what they're having so right now it goes with unisex stuffs. No matter, this is cute enough for either one!

It measures 44''X27'' give or take half an inch. Perfect for snuggling up the little one!

This was so easy as it was no cutting, just sew the two pieces together and viola!

I put a zig-zag stitch around the edges to give it some extra stability and to make it look nice.
I think I need to make a full size one for myself...what do you think?
