Busted! Scrappy Style!

I was missing my sewing machine. It was sitting in the corner all forlorn calling out to me. It was lonely. It hadn't spent any quality time wit me in a long time. I felt guilty every time I walked past. I shielded my eyes to avoid the looks of guilt it was sending me.

{Okay not really, but it sure seemed that way}

So I sat down and looked through my stash and decided it was time to get busted. Scrappy style! I honestly just started sewing. I had no idea I was going to make a quilt.
I am beginning to get addicted to these scrappy little buggers. There was no rhyme or reason to my sewing. I had a bunch of strips that I'd saved from previous projects, and just randomly started sewing them together. No outline, I completely let go of my OCD {Let me tell you how easy THAT was...} I came out with several wonky looking blocks, but somehow they spoke to me.

So I cut them out {This I fully wrangled my OCD to help me with and made sure they were 8'' square blocks.} and when I was finished I had a stack of 25 blocks, that were all different but pleasing to the eye.

I grabbed some left over blue fabric {Left over ha! There was nearly three yards of the stuff!} and added some borders and a backing and viola! This little guy sprung from the ashes of past projects. I'm sure he'll be horrified at having me throw out his measurements, but here they are. He's about 50'' square {give or take an inch} and has two layers of warm batting. I like the fluffy-ness...
I love how it's so busy, but yet there's a pattern in there if you look at it long enough.

And I still have about a yard of the blue fabric left!

Not sure what I'll do with him. I think I'll throw him up on my Etsy shop and see if I have any takers. If not, then it's sisters first baby quilt!
What do you guys think? I shall name him in I bustered out all my scraps making him! Now I need to go make more quilts to get more scraps! It's never ending I tell you...
